Due to fermentation, a cup of this fine cocoa contains more antioxidants than a bowl of blueberries, a quality feature that only a few raw cocoas can boast.

Warum ist der Kakaopreis so stark angestiegen?
Aufgrund des Klimawandels und starker Regenperioden fallen Ernten und die Erträge geringer aus, was zu einer Verdoppelung des Kakaopreises auf dem Weltmarkt geführt hat. Es gibt lediglich eine Hand voll Produzenten welche nach unseren Prinzipien anbauen. Diese verlangen noch einmal höhere Preise für die aufwendige Fermentierung, da wir auf Röstung verzichten, um die Inhaltsstoffe zu erhalten. Diese angespannte Marktlage wirkt sich direkt auf die Preise aus. Eine Entspannung des Weltmarktes sehen wir leider noch nicht kommen, der Preis sinkt langsam, jedoch halten die Produzenten aufgrund der Ungewissheit weiterhin an den höheren Preisen fest.
